Happy Canada Day!

Hi everyone,

We have another challenge going on at 613 Ave Create again this week. Our sponsor is Rick St Dennis. The challenge is anything goes but for the DT we have an extra theme to make something to celebrate our country's International holiday. July 1st is Canada Day. We have a big celebration in our community with a parade to start the day and fire works in the evening at the park. Lots of fun for all. Then on the weekend we celebrate Raspberry Fest.

Abbotsford, British Columbia is one of the most berry rich cities in Canada (in fact, it is the raspberry capital of the country!) so come to the City in the Country to celebrate berry bounty at the Abbotsford Berry Beat Festival! Pick your own berries in the field, try decadent berry deserts (and strawberry pancakes!), learn about local berries, groove to music, try your luck at the 'berried' treasure hunt and experience this fun street festival in Downtown Abbotsford!

So the theme for my card this week is Canada Day. I found this beautiful wall paper and resized it for my card. The card base is neenah white cs then layered it with the wallpaper I printed off the computer. I used a cuttlebug folder on the sides of the DP to give it a bit more texture.  I did have a red card stock to add first before the background but it wasn't in site so it was left off. I added two sm maple leaf's that I cut our with my small round punches. I distress around the digi and the two maple leaves with copic E18. The Rick St Dennis digi is called Maraposa Fairy and I coloured her with copic markers. I added her with dimentionals on the back. I then faux stitched around the background to brighten up the card. I added glitter on the wings but again it doesn't show. I will enter this card into these challenges.

Hi everyone,

I made this side step card today and I have to say I loved how easy it was to cut with my cricut and Sure Cuts A Lot. They cut so quickly and I know I will be making lots more now. The cut is from Penny Duncan Creations free svg file. I used this cute digi from Heather Valitin Eleanor and Pickles Camping. I coloured it with copics and fussy cut around it. I hand printed the yummy sentiment. I will enter this card into these challenges.

Father's Day Spinner Card

Hi everyone,

Our sponsor this week at 613 Avenue Create is Limited Runs Stamps. I thought this cute little whootie owl would be cute to use. I choose to use a spinner card. Yes, it turned out a little more girly than I had planned. I got carried away. It will be fine cause the little girls that are giving this to their Daddy think it's perfect, lol! I printed the image onto neenah white card stock and coloured him with copic. I thought the stripped paper went well with colour of the spinner opening. I had created a square with the opening in cricut craft room but when it was done it kept asking for the labels cartridge. Still wouldn't cut it . I made two and glued them together to make it stronger. I used a label punch for the sentiment and then added a smaller black rectangle for the sentiment made in PSP. There is a lot of glitter on the owl,  again doesn't show in photo. I added some doodling, then it just looked too plain so used a ribbon to finish it off. The inside is finished with the left overs from the front of the card. The girls will play with the card more than Daddy will, I am positive of that. lol! I will enter this card into these challenges.

My Copic Marker Inventory Book

Hi everyone,

This is my first posting for Shelia at She's a Sassy Lady. Most of you know how much I like my copic markers. Its nice to be able to see what I have and what other colours I would like to have.   I made this journal quite a few months ago but couldn't decide what I wanted as my front cover. Well as you can see I finally finished it. Her is my copic Inventory book.

I downloaded this copic chart from Frillions by Eli at
 http://frillions.wordpress.com/2012/01/02/copic-colors-notebook-tutorial/
There are a lot of different charts made by a lot of talented people. You just need to find one you like and download it.

I printed off the pages and cut them into 4. The front and back covers were made from the inside cardboard of two large chocolate bars. The chocolate was so yummy. They are a beautiful gold and feel as strong as chip board. I used my cinch to bind the book. This book was also the first book I bound on my cinch. How easy it was too. I then took my markers and added the colours to the pages.

To decorate the cover I used SEI winter song DSP stack. Its a Christmas stack but it had the colours I was looking for. The Chocolate brown solid paper was a scrap piece so I am not sure where it came from. I used Cricut Craft Room to cut the letters copic markers. Its from the free font cricut basic. I used a white gel pen on the letters. The flowers were white but I coloured them with E29 and the ribbon is from my stash.    The image is a Saturated Canary Digi called Blanche. I used a  SU die around the image for the shape. I doodled around the shape and then coloured with copic. E00,000,21,29,37,35, R24,27,29, Sukura clear glitter for the earrings. I will add this book into these challenges.

Little Yogi Framed

Hi everyone,

I am so happy to be posting today's project. I always feel good when I see my little Yogi 's picture. How can you tell I am a pet lover. Todays post is for 613 ave create. Our sponsor is Fred She Said and I have chosen to do a cut file for them. This file has lots of formats and my cricut used svg. The file is called wrought iron frame. I was so please with how well it cut and it came out so clean. Love it. I also distressed around all the edges and then I traced around the inside of the opening on the photo and cut it out. I thought he would look cute with a bow tie so I used some twine to match the colour in the photo. I added liquid pearls around the image. I will add this frame into these challenges.
